NOT EXACTLY NASHVILLE - Sarah Clanton, Andy Beckey and Xanthe Alexis
When these three songwriters get together it’s typically in Nashville, but they are anything but typical Nashville. Since 2021, together they have curated events and community in the heart of East Nashville, hosting hundreds of artists and music lovers as Cellotree Arts Presents. The Cellotree has even hosted a number of Colorado artists, like our own Xanthe Alexis, Gasoline Lollipops, Shanna in a Dress, Big Richard, to name a few.
These three songwriters are unique not only for creating an intimate and meaningful community in a crazy town such as Nashville, they each have their own signature styles that when brought together make for a dynamic show. Sarah Clanton song-writes and rocks out with her cello, an unexpected and mesmerizing experience. Though his roots are punk rock, Andy Beckey may be more Johnny Cash than Joey Ramone yet he’s often referred to as a Psycho Sinatra with a screaming guitar. Hailed by KEXP radio as “transcendent,” Xanthe Alexis weaves poetic lyricism with haunting vocals making for an unforgettable enchantment of sound and imagery.
