Stillhouse Junkies Live Candlelit Concert at Bluecorn Cafe in Montrose

  • 1842 S Townsend Ave Montrose, CO 81401 United States of America (map)

The Stillhouse Junkies are a Durango band built around bluegrass but not exactly staying in their lane. If you haven't heard them: they mix roots, blues, swing and bluegrass into a sound that doesn't sit still. All the members trade off vocals and swap instruments mid-set, so no two songs sound quite the same. KDUR Radio's station manager put it well, saying their sound is both laid back and loose, tight and refined at the same time — a pretty accurate way to describe a band that can go from a quiet, aching ballad to something that makes you want to get up and move, all in the same set.

The International Bluegrass Music Association named them Momentum Band of the Year and reviewers keep coming back to how much personality is packed into their live shows. One review of their Grey Fox festival set said it well, ”They make a mighty big joyful noise for a band their size.”

So bring a friend, grab a seat and settle in for an evening that's part concert, part candlelit community hang. Doors open early and seats are limited. Save some cash when you buy tickets in advance.
